DISCONTINUED [2025-04]: Spain's Investor Visa (Golden Visa) was abolished by Organic Law 1/2025 effective 3 April 2025 (published BOE 3 January 2025; 3-month suspension period). All four investment routes eliminated: EUR 500K real estate, EUR 2M government bonds, EUR 1M shares/deposit, EUR 1M philanthropic donation. Justification per Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez: removing real estate speculation. Applications submitted before 2025-04-03 are processed under previous rules; existing visa holders can renew as long as conditions are met. Aggregator sites listing this as an active program post-April-2025 are stale. Spain alternatives still active: Non-Lucrative Visa (income-based, in DB) and DN Visa (Ley de Startups, in DB).
