Methodology
Every indicator on CountryLens has its own methodology page — definition, primary source, license, refresh cadence, and the current world leaderboard. Click any indicator below to see how we render its value on country pages, and where the underlying data comes from.
Browse data interactivelyPrimary only
UN agencies, national statistical offices, the World Bank, the IUCN Red List, UNEP-WCMC, and similar. No aggregators of aggregators.
License-clean
Every source ships under a permissive, commercial-compatible license (CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC0, public domain). CC-BY-NC sources are substituted, not silently ingested.
Deep-linked
Each fact links to the exact URL of the publisher's page with that value — not the publisher's homepage.
Auditable
Every fact carries the ID of the ingestion run that produced it. Stale data is replaced on a public cadence (annual for most, quarterly for the World Bank).
