Tax
Unit: percent
All 74 reporting countries — sort by value or name
74 countries · latest reported year each · Standard VAT/GST rate
Standard VAT/GST rate per country. EU27 from European Commission VAT Directive current-rates table; non-EU from each country's tax authority (HMRC UK, SAT Mexico, Receita Federal Brazil, etc.). Reduced rates and country-specific transitions (BR CBS+IBS, IN GST 2.0) documented in per-row notes within the seed file. US stored as NULL because there is no federal VAT — state-level sales tax is structurally different.
Every fact rendered on a country page deep-links to this source. We don't copy values blindly — our ingestion pipeline fetches directly from the publisher and logs every run so the provenance chain is verifiable.
